About Noelle

Founder of Rare Studios • Lead Facilitator
With over two decades of teaching and thousands of hours on the mat, Noelle Connolly is widely regarded as a teacher’s teacher—one of the most influential and respected yoga educators of her generation. Born in Philadelphia and now based in Sydney, Noelle brings a fierce passion, deep discipline, and sharp intelligence to everything she does.
Drawing on the structure of classical Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga, Noelle’s teaching is shaped by her time studying under legendary teachers including Maty Ezraty, Richard Freeman & Mary Taylor, Joan White, Joan Hyman, and Simon Park. Her understanding of asana—and how each posture lives within another—is both anatomical and poetic, making her classes as educational as they are transformative.
Noelle is the founder of Rare Studios in Sydney and the visionary behind its yoga and teacher training programs. With her signature blend of humour, rigour, and authenticity, she has redefined the yoga landscape in Australia, inspiring a more conscious, intelligent, and creative approach to both practice and teaching.
At the heart of her teaching is a love for presence. Noelle holds her students accountable with unwavering care, encouraging them to meet themselves with honesty and to teach from a place of service and depth. While known for her fiery classes and high standards, she’s also a self-proclaimed closet comedian who believes that a little laughter is essential on the path to self-discovery.
When she’s not teaching in Sydney or leading international retreats and trainings, you’ll find her soaking up Sydney’s coastline, diving into Pilates, cooking for friends, or enjoying wine and laughter with her beloved girl gang.
"I didn't even realize I had plateaued so much in my yoga teaching until I met Noelle. Her passion for teaching sparked the biggest light in me, truly. I have never been so moved by another teacher. Thank you Noelle for re-inspiring me, for teaching me the importance of integrity in teaching, and to bring us so much wisdom while always meeting us exactly where we are."
